I was going through author Preety Shenoy’s book recommendation on instagram when I stumbled upon this book. The book which increased my blood pressure like anything, which made every cell in my blood boil and which made me doubt my own husband is none other than “Every Last Secret” by A.R. Torre. Well, I guess everyone is having some kind of rough idea regarding this book after reading my introduction. Without further ado let’s dive into the description and review.
Description –
Cat Winthrope was happily married to billionaire business tycoon William Winthrope and staying in an elite society. When a friendly neighbor Neena Ryder and her husband shifted and stayed next door, everything changed. Cat, being a wife, could feel something is wrong with Neena’s behavior when she is with William. But she couldn’t figure it out as Neena was an employee in her husband’s office and sometimes they used to talk business. On the other hand Neena is having some ulterior motive. Being a Phd graduate in human psychology, she was master in all kinds of manipulation techniques and tried everything she knew on William.
Neena was this close to success when an unknown disaster fell upon her. She was being arrested as murder suspect for her devoted husband Matt. While going through the road map she set for her, she understood where she made the mistake and it was underestimating the wife Cat Winthrope.
Review –
- The book description has been done in both the characters point of view, Cat and Neena. So readers can have an easy understanding of both the characters and comprehend what is going on and what is going to happen.
- The location they both are staying, the neighbors, house description was well explained. Till now I can visualize how and where the events took place.
- Between both the characters, we can’t say if someone is good or not. The best way to portray the difference is by saying, if one is bad, the other one is more bad than her. So none of the characters are innocent and it can somewhat ease the anticipation among readers.
- The way Neena was manipulating each and every step and interacting with William, it made my heart skip a bit and I could feel the same rage that Cat must have felt. The manipulation technique was superbly horrible and very much realistic.
- The mystery and twist is so crazy that once readers finish reading it, they will get utmost satisfaction with the justice being served.
Conclusion –
Overall this is a good read I would say. The book which can make you angry like anything and at the same time you can empathize with the antagonist in a way. You will feel sorry for both the husbands and still you wouldn’t figure out the best way to provide justice to all the characters other than what the book has served. I would say excellent writing skill with excellent tricks has been used. I am highly recommending this book guys.
